Carmen has worked at Rush-Copley Medical Center as a Physician Assistant (PA) in cardiology for over three years. Carmen collaborates with our cardiologists to provide quality cardiac care to patients. Carmen earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois in 2004 and graduated from Southern Illinois University with her Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2006. In 2007, Carmen earned her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska.
Because of the close working relationship that physician assistants have with physicians, PAs are educated in the medical model designed to complement physician training. As a physician assistant, Carmen can conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, and write prescriptions under the supervision of a physician. Carmen teaches patients how to take better care of themselves and adopt healthy lifestyle changes.
Carmen has been married for over 3 years and enjoys golfing, running, reading and baking in her spare time.
